The Insomniac is a 2009

film noir
written and directed by Madhav Mathur. It is the debut feature length film under the Bad Alliteration Films independent production banner. The Insomniac premiered at the Sinema Old School Singapore-based independent distribution house, opening in the 100-seater venue on August 13, 2009, in Singapore.
The film's narrative centers on Ali, a workaholic writer who is struggling to complete his latest work of fiction. His sleepless efforts slowly force him to lose his mind. The film was shot and edited in Film-noir style, relying on invoking surrealistic atmosphere and dark, ironic plot-ends.

Tormented and chased by seductive assassins, loony psychiatrists, bullies and army men, he has only one person who can actually save him, and she too seems reluctant.
