Issa was born in São Paulo, Brazil but spent most of her childhood years in Europe.
The daughter of a set designer, Issa started her acting career at the age of seven; doing several professional plays and international theater festivals.
At age twelve, she began acting in motion pictures. Since that day, she has portrayed characters such as Jubiabá, from the novel
by Jorge Amado
, and Ceci, the lead in the Brazilian and French co-production of the classic The Guarani.
To date, Issa's credits include eighteen successful theatrical productions, daytime television host on the Globo Network
and numerous leading roles in major motion pictures.
Issa, having had the opportunity to live all over the world, has studied internationally with concentrations in language, art, theatre and literature in Italy, France, England, Germany and the United States.
Highlights include studying at La Sorbonne, the lead in the Vienna
production of A Falecida by Nelson Rodrigues
and attending the "Lee Strasberg
Institute" in New York.
Issa is fluent in English, Italian, French and Portuguese, and speaks conversational German and Spanish.
Projects as producer and director include the weekly cable television show "NY Underground" an insider's look at the NYC way of life, the documentary Parintins, the acclaimed short movie Medusa, and the Award winning documentary Dzi Croquettes.
Issa carries 14 awards as a director, her first feature film, Dzi Croquettes won two Awards at the Rio de Janeiro International Film festival
2009 for Best Documentary by the Official Jury Award and Best Documentary by the Audience Award and two awards at the “São Paulo International Film festival” (33° Mostra Internacional de São Paulo) for Best Documentary Itamaraty Award (Foreign Ministry Award) and Best Documentary by the Popular Vote.
The feature documentary "Dzi Croquettes" was directed and produced by Tatiana Issa and Raphael Alvarez, in a co-production TRIA Productions and Canal Brazil Network.
