The Taiwan saddled carpetshark, Cirrhoscyllium formosanum, is a carpetshark of the family Parascylliidae found around Taiwan, between latitudes 28°N and 21°N, at depths down to 110 m. Its length is up to 39 cm.
The Taiwan saddled carpetshark has a pair of cartilaginous barbels on the throat. The head length is 2.3 to 2.6 times the first dorsal fin base, and the mouth is in front of the eyes. The dorsal fins are equal sized and set back towards the tail.

The Taiwan saddled carpetshark has a pair of cartilaginous barbels on the throat. The head length is 2.3 to 2.6 times the first dorsal fin base, and the mouth is in front of the eyes. The dorsal fins are equal sized and set back towards the tail. It is found on the outer continental shelf on or near the bottom.
Coloration is six diffuse saddle marks on the dorsal surface, and an elongated rounded saddle on each side between the pectoral and pelvic fins.
Reproduction is oviparous.
