Workforce

In North America, TMEIC employs a workforce of over 300, of which more than 95 percent are degreed engineers and technicians.

Technology

Over time, the company’s focus has evolved to meet market demands: to power larger motors, for greater energy efficiency, and for new products in a changing global marketplace. For example, a new family of drives, the XL series, was introduced in 2009 to power large electric compressors used in the oil and gas industry.

TMEIC utilizes a proprietary process for managing global system integration projects called Project Life Cycle Process (PLCP). The process combines project management theory with five decades of experience to coordinate projects from order inquiry through design and installation to post-sales service. The company employs this practice on all projects to maximize best practices, analyze customer and business risks and facilitate communication throughout the process.

TMEIC has developed new process technologies in an effort to meet the demands of a greener environment. One such new technology is being applied in the steel industry where TMEIC has developed the technology, software and computer control systems that allow steel producers to manufacture the new high-strength lightweight grades of steel required for more fuel-efficient automobiles.

Industry recognition

In February, 2009, TMEIC Corporation was one of eight companies to graduate from the Virginia Economic Development Partnership’s Virginia Leaders in Export Trade (VALET) program. Launched in January 2002, the two-year VALET program assists exporters in Virginia
