Situated in the village is the Symington Weather Station, an amateur weather station run by Tinto PCs, publishing detailed weather reports on the internet for Symington and the surrounding area. Sport

Currently, the village has one football club, Symington Tinto Amateur Football Club. Within this club, two amateur teams exist, who play in the Caledonian and Lanarkshire amateur football leagues respectively. There was formerly a golf course in Symington, but this has not been present for a number of years.

Education

Symington has a nursery and a primary school, Tinto Primary School. The Primary School website is at is at www.tintoprimary.org. The pupils of Tinto Primary typically go on to Biggar High School
