. The number of students on roll is 1,650. The school also has a Sixth Form Centre and has become a Specialist Sports College with Training School Status.

Trust Status

From September 2007, South Dartmoor Community College became a Trust School.
This is a new type of school, still part of the Local Authority system, and came into existence in September 07. The Governing Body continues to be responsible for the performance of the school which operates as it does at present. However, it now gains the support of a charitable Trust which also appoints a minority of the Governors. The energy and expertise of Trust partners supports the leadership and direction.

  • CASIO Digital Award for the school developing the most innovative use of digital photography (2005/04)
