 was founded in 1999 by Sam Hurt and Jude Biddulph. Both graduated from Central St Martins College of Art and Design, London in 1996. Following a chance meeting as postgraduates they exchanged ideas and established a similar career direction resulting in a mutual agreement to collaborate their work. They moved into a North London squat and from there they began to produce prototypes and establish the rudiments of supply and distribution. The partnership proved a success and their hard work and commitment rewarded them with growth in productivity

. In 2002 they moved into offices in London's East End, but not before the police raided their base.
