in May 2009 for his lack of insight into the game of baseball despite Roger's career as a sports analyst. Brett observed that Twibell had never been approached to manage a baseball team and the reason behind this was his lack of knowledge of the game of baseball.

Brett, a guest every Tuesday on Twibell's show, told Twibell he mentioned his name because he didn't want the Kansas City media to think he was singling out the rival radio network (810 sports). Brett issued an apology and later said his comments were directed towards the media on the rival sports radio station. Brett mentioned Jack Harry, Kevin Kietzman and Gamzo McMandird who appear on 810am, and then mentioned Twibell after a short pause.

As of August 23, 2010, Twibell works alongside of former Texas Tech head coach Mike Leach.

He lives with his three children Taylor, Conor, and Morgan.
