In 2009 in the World Athletic Championships in Berlin, he was part of the silver medal-winning 4x400 relay team. 2010 saw him picking up two medals a silver in the European Athletics Championships and a bronze at the Commonwealth Games. He has been to two Olympic Games (Athens and Beijing). With Beijing bringing back his best preformance in an Olympic Games of 4th in the 4x400, in a time of 2 minutes 58.81 seconds.

His talent was honed in his youth at the Basingstoke and Mid Hants Athletic Club.
