 inspection was on 4 May 2007, when the inspectors report praised the school saying "Redbridge provides outstanding quality education. Whilst the school modestly judges its overall effectiveness to be good, inspectors judge it to be excellent. Students speak very highly of their school and show considerable pride in it. Parents are happy with the provision that the school makes for their children."

According to the Department for Education and Skills performance tables, the school obtained the highest CVA score in the city, with a score of 1039.1, putting the school in the top 25% of schools in England. This is a new, complex Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4 contextual value added

Future plans with Redbridge Community School

As part of Southampton City Council's review of Secondary Education, called Learning Futures, it is proposed that the school will be expanded from September 2008, from 900 to 1050 pupils.
A further 10 classrooms are to be built at the school as part of the extension 19 June the new classrooms will house the schools mathematics department all class rooms will have air con these will be the only classrooms that have air con apart from the school's ICT classrooms.
