 company contracted Prestcold to manufacture his Rolls Rapide washing machines which meant converting the production lines to produce cheap washing machines(they sold for as little as thirty nine guineas).Bloom evolved an aggressive mass advertising project and business boomed, but after reaching saturation point orders dried up and Pressed steel co closed it and the name disappeared on domestic fridges on the collapse of that company.

Prestcold, along with other parts of Morris Motors, was absorbed into BMC

Prestcold ended household refrigerator production and focused on parts and specialist cooling equipment. The Prestcold brand was still used for household refrigerators by McAlpine Prestcold Limited in New Zealand.
