In a close fight, Radhakrishnan lost the 2009 Lok sabha elections from Kanyakumari but he was later made the President of the Tamil Nadu unit of the BJP. In 2011 Tamil Nadu assembly election he contested from Nagercoil constituency however lost and secured third position. He usually tirggers violence among Hindu and Christian Community in Kanyakumari District.
