 and one of the most populous in Malaysia with over 500,000 residents. Anyway , the Plentong village always being flooded during rainy season because of very old and poor water drainage system. The government cooperate with KTM Berhad (Malaysian Train Service Company) to rebuild the KTM Plentong Bridge in order to facilitate the flow of the water of Sungai Plentong during rainy season . The whole project cost about 50 million and as of July 2009 , the train bridge is in the early stage of construction .

In future under the Iskandar masterplan it will be a major rail terminus with both electrified commuter rail between Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru and Kulai and LRT/Monorail between Pasir Gudang and Johor Bahru intersecting here.It is considered as one of the best areas of living hood among other housing areas in Malaysia.
