Pichatoor is located 60km from Tirupati and 75km from Chennai on NH205. Araniar reservoir (capacity 32ft) is located in Pichatoor. It is well connected by bus with Sri Kalahasti, Tirupati, Chennai, Tiruttani and Tiruvallur.
Prudential Mouli Sugars Ltd., Venkateswara Diary and Tirumala Diary are some of the industries located around Pichatoor.
The main occupations are agriculture and cattle breeding.

He was very close to our former PM Mrs Indira Gandhi and played a key role in turning out former CM of Andhra Pradesh Mr Nara Chandrababu Naidu. People of this village and nearby villages say that Mr Nara Chandrababu Naidu has worked as Personal Assistant to Mr Jayachandra Naidu till he contested as MLA in 1978. Mr K Jayachandra Naidu is now constructing free houses for more than 100 poor families at his village of Govardhanagiri.
Every citizen of this mandal should be very proud that it nurtured and trained Mr Nara Chandrababu Naidu, known as the CEO of Andhra Pradesh during his reign as CM.
Mr Jayachandra Naidu was also very close to Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao family during the '80s and Nandamuri Balakrishna has attended few family functions at Mr Jayachandra Naidu's home.
