who had fallen for Paul Williams. In time, Phyllis began trying to eliminate Christine, who she started calling "The Bug", from Danny's life and one night Phyllis rented a car using her maiden name and ran both Christine and Paul down on the streets of Genoa City. Christine and Paul survived, but the truth was never learned that it was Phyllis who ran them down. In the following year, Phyllis panicked when the man who really fathered Daniel, Brian Hamilton, arrived in town. As time went on, Phyllis began conspiring with a woman named Sasha Green to commit several villainous acts. Danny, who wanted out his marriage to Phyllis, eventually set to divorce her after the truth about Daniel's paternity came out. Phyllis was desperate to hold onto Danny and in the hopes of making him jealous, she began seeing Peter Garrett. Danny was slightly jealous of Peter who was a beloved father figure for Daniel, which made Danny uncomfortable. Over time, Danny's feelings for Phyllis resurfaced and he decided to remarry her. Shortly after they remarried, a desperate Sasha began blackmailing Phyllis for money, Phyllis then tried to find ways of getting Sasha out of the way, but to her satisfaction, Sasha was killed in a fire. In 1998, Danny had become fed up with Phyllis constant deceptions and divorced her again and sued for custody of their son Daniel. Phyllis lost custody of Daniel and then contact with him after Danny left town with him. Less than a year later, Phyllis left Genoa City.

Despite Daniel trying to get her to understand why he did what he did, Phyllis refuses to listen to him & decides to go full speed ahead with her plans to get custody of Lucy which she does and wins. Daniel, disturbed by his mother's claim that she cares for Lucy, disowns her after she brings Daisy to town to help further her case. It was seen on August 25, 2011 that she has a connection to Sharon's new lawyer Avery Bailey Clark. The two are estranged sisters (Phyllis had lied previously and stated she was an only child), information which Phyllis wants to keep quiet.

and Phyllis' maiden name being Summers. Phyllis and Nick legally wed after the six month waiting period on May 1, 2007. However, their marital bliss is short lived when Nick is presumed dead after a plane crash. When Nick is finally found and makes his way back to Genoa City, he suffers from amnesia, forgetting the last few years of his life and the fact that he is now married to Phyllis and not Sharon. Nick continues to pursue Sharon and the life they once shared but slowly he began to realize why he fell for Phyllis. All during this time Phyllis is on trial for extortion and when she is found guilty, Nick finally falls in love with Phyllis all over again just as she in sentenced. When she is released things go well for a while but Sharon continues to be an intruder in their marriage and in Paris during a nostalgic moment about their deceased daughter, Nick kisses Sharon a bridge which Phyllis witnesses. Phyllis tries to hold on to Nick, even getting former enemy Brad involved, but when her plan to unite Brad and Sharon by breaking up Sharon and Jack backfires, Sharon is sent into the arms of Nick during an icestorm where they have sex at The Abbott cabin. Nick and Phyllis try to reconcile but Nick continues to pander between his past relationship with Sharon and his current relationship with Phyllis, and it only becomes more difficult when Sharon finds out she's pregnant. When Nick and Phyllis' daughter Summer goes into anaphalatic shock from an allergic reaction to nuts, reuniting them for the sake of their daughter. Seeing the way Phyllis continues to fight or their daughter, Nick realizes how much he still loves her and proposes marriage for a third time. The two are married at The Ranch surrounded by Daniel, Noah, Summer, and Nikki. Soon after Nick is told that the baby Sharon is carrying is his but he continues to be committed to Phyllis. When the baby is born it is believed to be deceased and Phyllis once again helps Nick in his grief for the loss of a daughter. When Phyllis does some digging on Adam she discovers Faith, Sharon and Nick's baby, is alive and helps to reunite them, thus putting another strain on hers and Nick's relationship. Nick then began to pander between trying to "save" Sharon from her emotional crisis' all while proclaiming to be invested in a future with Phyllis. In June 2010 Phyllis is slowly beginning to realise that she will never be able to feel that Nick loves only her and starts to question her desperation in trying to hold on to her marriage while Nick will always have divided loyalties. She stands by his side while he's accused of murder but decides to leave once the charges are dropped. Nick makes a public speech at a press conference that he wouldn't have gotten through his ordeal without the support of his wife and plans to spend the rest of his life showing her how grateful he is to be her husband but it appears for Phyllis his promises have come too late. On July 9, 2010, Phyllis tells Nick that she knows that he loves her, but can no longer take the back and forth with her and Sharon, saying it's "goodbye forever" before leaving their home. Phyllis then moves into her old penthouse. Nick asks her to give their marriage one last chance, but Phyllis refuses, knowing that he will never truly commit himself to her, and asks Nick to walk away from her, which he does. They are divorced by September 2010.

, and even Adam, have attempted to save Sharon in her trial for supposedly killing Skye Newman. However, Sharon is eventually found guilty and escapes thanks to Adam setting the whole thing up. Publicly, Adam wants to see Sharon return and convinces Nick and Phyllis to help her.
In April 2011 during these past few weeks Nick and Phyllis have drawn closer to each other because of Sharon's trial. In St.Martins while on the search for Sharon and Adam, Nick and Phyllis express their feelings for each other by having sex.
In July of 2011 Phyllis is hired back at Restless Style by Nick who has bought back restless style from Billy Abbott. A couple of days later while Nick and Phyllis work to get restless style up and running again together but they cannot deny their attraction to each other.

Deacon Sharpe

In 2010, on Phyllis' way up to check on Nick at the cabin who was with Sharon, Phyllis got a flat tire, thus pulling over where she sees Deacon for the first time since he attempted to frame her son Daniel for a crime. Phyllis cuts her hand and Deacon takes off his shirt to use it to stop the bleeding. She sees Nick, and in an attempt to make Nick jealous, she kisses Deacon. Thus starting a hot-&-heavy relationship, but the only real reason she was with Deacon was to get over Nick, prompting her to have sex with him behind Gloria Bardwell's nightclub Gloworm where Deacon works as a bartender. The sex took place on a dumpster. Their relationship was hot but full of uncertainty because Phyllis still hadn't gotten over Nick, & Deacon has no intention of being used. The two later break up, & Phyllis gets back together with her ex, Jack Abbott.

While Drucilla's family attended her funeral, Phyllis and Nick held their own memorial service for Drucilla atop the cliff, in which Phyllis tearfully admitted that Drucilla "had the last laugh".

Rivalry with Christine Blair

Even though Phyllis had succeeded in stealing Danny away from Christine, Christine still became a constant thorn in Phyllis' side, as her mere presence in Danny's life was a serious threat to Phyllis' marriage. Paul's relationship with Chris wasn't enough to dwindle Phyllis' paranoia as she sought to destroy her blond enemy in order to keep her completely away from Danny. This led to Phyllis' attempt on Christine's life by running Chris and Paul down with her car. To this day, Phyllis hasn't been exposed for her crime. However, Chris investigated Phyllis and soon found out that she deceived Danny concerning the paternity of his supposed child. In response, Danny fought Phyllis in court for custody of Phyllis' son. Christine represented Danny in court, while Phyllis hooked up with Micheal Baldwin, an enemy from Chris' past, for legal advice and for romance. The battle for custody declared Danny the winner and the court deemed Phyllis an unfit mother. This left Phyllis filled with bitterness towards Christine, blaming her for "ripping her only son from her arms". Phyllis left town but returned years later, determined to change her diabolical ways and start over. With Danny no longer a factor in either women lives, Christine and Phyllis lessened their tension, even though they still bickered on occasion.

Almost a decade had passed and Phyllis still harbored resentment towards the woman responsible for legally taking her child away from her. The two women moved on, with Christine now battling the likes of Isabella Brana over her ex-husband Paul Williams and with Phyllis contending with the calculating nemesis Diane Jenkins over her new marriage to Jack Abbott. Even though both women were fighting parallel wars in their personal lives, Phyllis and Christine still shared a mutual disdain for one another. Even when Phyllis has proven herself to be a professional web designer and a prominent socialite, so prominent that she has earned more wealth than her enemy, Christine still perceived Phyllis to be nothing more than her own worst enemy, a woman who does things without fully considering the ramifications of her monstrous actions. Phyllis, on the other hand, thinks that Christine is the hypocritical "moral judge of all humanity" and that she really delights in meddling in other people's lives, especially Phyllis'.The two enemies were entangled once again with the sudden return of Danny and his now teenage son Daniel. Phyllis, finally spending time with a son she hadn't seen since he was a toddler, didn't hesitate to blast Christine for her part in the judge declaring her unfit. Yet, she would be forced to swallow her pride and her contempt, in order to beseech Chris' help in her impending arrest, having been charged with conspiracy to murder her then lover Damon's mortal enemy Dominic. Initially, they agreed to put their differences aside and work together for Daniel's sake. But tension arose when it became clear that Christine couldn't discipline Phyllis and she turned her back on Phyllis, refusing to continue to represent her. Phyllis soon sought the help of her lawyer friend Michael Baldwin and Christine took on Damon as her client and they were able to have Detective Webber dismiss the charges. The final encounters between the fiery Phyllis and the saccharine Christine occurred during Daniel's trial. Having just killed Cassie Newman in an accident, Daniel turned to Christine for help in his legal troubles. Phyllis, the worry stricken mother, placed her entire faith in Christine, trusting that she would save her son from prison. The irony is that Phyllis who once scorned Christine for defending Danny in court now had to trust that Christine would defend her son. It was discovered that Cassie was driving the car that ultimately led to her fatal accident and Daniel was acquitted. Since the trial, Phyllis and Christine barely had contact, since Christine has left Genoa City.
In 2010, roughly five years after Daniel's trial, Christine returns to Genoa City. She reunites with those closest to her but does not have any contact or mention of her old nemesis. Their paths would cross indirectly, however, at Jimmy's bar. Christine, feeling that she must leave Genoa City to avoid hurting her two friends, Paul and Nina, who had become a couple, stops at Jimmy's bar before leaving town. She has a run in with Phyllis' husband Nick Newman, who she ends up kissing. Phyllis, having separated from Nick, witnesses this kiss and assumes that Nick is kissing Sharon, his ex-wife and the source of great despair in her marriage. She finds out later that the blonde woman wasn't Sharon but doesn't know who she was. Even though Phyllis refers to her as "some blonde bimbo", it is clear that the unknown woman had bought her considerable hurt, for the kiss bought back memories of witnessing a kiss shared between Nick and Sharon in Paris.

Rivalry with Sharon Newman

Phyllis' arch rival is Sharon Newman, who has continued to be a part of Nick's life. Sharon and Phyllis' feud began when Phyllis slept with Sharon's husband Nick. Sharon finally left Nick when he told her that he was the father of Phyllis's baby, leaving him to be with his mistress Phyllis. Sharon and Phyllis became bitter enemies from then on, which included Phyllis blackmailing Sharon when she discovered Sharon's one-night stand with Brad Carlton. In the Winter of 2008, Nick and Sharon began their own sexual affair, as he began to realize he was still in love with his ex-wife. As his usual pattern, he left his wife Phyllis to be with his now pregnant lover in June 2009. Soon afterwards, Phyllis and Nick's daughter, Summer, was poisoned by Jack Abbott's ex-wife Patty Williams (who was under disguise as Mary Jane) in order to bring Phyllis and Nick back together and keep Phyllis away from Jack Abbott, whom Patty is obsessed with. Sharon decided to let Nick spend more time with his very ill daughter, and lied to both him and Jack Abbott, by saying that the baby was Jack's. Nick soon spent more time with both Phyllis and Summer, and reconciled with Phyllis, after which they renewed their vows. In early July 2010 Phyllis finally gave up on her marriage knowing Nick would never fully commit himself to her, leaving Sharon free to get back with Nick. Nick and Sharon have since gone on a few dates/outings with their baby daughter Faith. Phyllis has recently written an article about Sharon in Restless Style, proving Adam's innocence. Sharon is very bitter towards Phyllis and because of this, they had a catfight

Feud with Adam Newman

Phyllis and Adam had a very brief flirtation when Adam first arrived in Genoa City, during which time Adam briefly develops something of an infatuation with Phyllis. This did not last however as the pair eventually grew to dislike each other. Blaming Adam for causing Nick to look out for Sharon, Phyllis digs for information in early 2010 about what Adam has been up to. She discovers the whole baby-swap ordeal, and informs family and friends of it, forcing Adam to fake his own death to escape. When Adam return to Genoa City later this year, Phyllis relentlessly continues to expose Adam for what he is through the magazine, Restless Style. Viciously attacking Sharon and Adam, Phyllis fiercely manipulates them in order to get information on Skye Lockhart

's "murder".
Following Sharon being charged with murdering Skye, Phyllis posted a recording of a fight between Sharon and Skye (on top of the volcano that Skye fell and subsequently died in) on the Restless Style internet site. Phyllis quickly became convinced however that Sharon was "too weak" to commit murder and therefore has decided to help prove Sharon's innocence with help from Jack.

On August 25, 2011, Phyllis is reunited with her sister, Avery Clark, for the first time in years. No one knew that Phyllis has a sister.
