Prince graduated from Tufts University

 in 1906 and served as an assistant football coach at Tufts in 1907.

He became the head football coach at Louisiana Tech in 1909 and coached the Bulldog football team through the 1915 season in which LA Tech won the Louisiana Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship. The 1915 season the first season LA Tech ever competed in a football conference, and therefore, LA Tech's first ever conference championship.

Prince also coached the LA Tech baseball team in 1910 and finished with 14 wins and 4 losses.
