Peoria High School is commonly referred to as "Central" to distinguish it from Richwoods and Manual, and it is centrally located in Peoria.(as of 2010 only 2 other high schools one was closed) high schools in Peoria Public Schools District 150; Peoria is the only city in the tri-county area with multiple high schools.
The school had a 150th all-school reunion and celebration in June 2006 at the Peoria Civic Center

AA Boys state basketball championship in 1908, and 1977. Peoria High won consecutive state titles in 2003 and 2004 under the direction of long-time coach Chuck Buescher.
Their longtime rivals are the Peoria Manual Rams.
