Geography

Penumuru is located at 13.3667°N 79.1833°E. It has an average elevation of 374 meters (1230 feet).

Penumur is 20 kilometers away from Chittoor and 50 km from Tirupati (Temple city) of Andhra Pradesh.
On the way from Chittoor to Penumur there is a temple called Sri Puligunteswara swamy temple at the Puligundu. It is one of the most wonderful stones in Andhra Pradesh. Now People/Tourists can climb the "TigerRock(Puligundu)" with help of Nicely constructed steps. And recently Lord Shiva Temple has been built on the surface of TigerRock(Puligundu).
