History

Curriculum

Languages taught include French, Spanish, German, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Madarin Chinese and some Cornish. It is also an International School having received a Gold International School Award from the British Council

Admissions

The college has a teacher training programme and has achieved Training School

 status. It has been awarded second specialist status in Vocational Education and is collaborating with other local schools and colleges on vocational courses. The headteacher is David Parker, who took over fully in September 2006.

The uniform was changed in September 2006 by the students filling out a form in PSHE lessons in June 2006. The old uniform was blue, black and white, the new one is now only black and white.

The uniform has been altered again recently, using a black V- neck jumper with a yellow strip around the neck, a gold and black striped tie and black trousers. The prefects wear the same uniform, but with a blue strip instead of the yellow and blue and black ties.

Academic performance

It achieves reasonable, above-average GCSE results. Like most secondary schools in Cornwall, it does not have a sixth form.
