. Historic name of this village is Peddamudimela and it was a Agraharam. It is on the Banks of River Kundu which is tributary to River Penna.

Geography

Peddamudium is one of the Mandal head quarters in Kadapa District and the list Of Villages in Peddamudium Mandal includes Balapana Gudur,Bheemagundam, Bhuthamapuram,Bodithippanapadu, Chinnamudium, Chinnapasupula,Diguva Kalvalla,Gundlakunta, J. Kothapalli, J. Kottalapalli, Jangalapalli, Kondasunkesula, Medidinne, N. Koltalapalli, Nemalladinne, Palur, Papayapalli, Peddamudium, Peddapasupula, Suddapalli, Ulavapalli and Uppalur. It is located on the road connecting Jammalamadugu and Allgadda and approximately 20 Km from each town. It was also idetified as Phirka during British Raj and has Police station since then. The village has 4 ancient temples supposed to be constructed during Sri Krishna Deyarayulu rule.
