. The name was later changed to Woodie's DIY. Before it was a Payless DIY store, the site on the greenhills road was an outlet of the Chadwick’s company, also a DIY chain. The last store to have its name changed form Payless DIY to Woodies DIY in the Republic of Ireland was the store on the Greenhill’s road in Tallaght

, Dublin, Ireland. When this store finally closed down the store in Tallaght had been operating in tandem. Eventually the store on the greenhills road was closed and all operations moved to the belgard road under the Woodies name and customers where advised of the move. Later after the store on the Greenhills road was closed it became a wholesale paints warehouse The site has since been sold and is now the home of a Lidl

 store with none of original building remaining. The store on the Belgard road in the meantime has also been moved and now exists beside the Shamrock Rovers Football Club

Payless DIY was also the name of a chain of DIY stores in the UK during the 1980's. It was part of the Ward White group which included Halfords

. Payless then became part of Focus DIY which also included groups like Do-It-All. The Focus group then successfully bought up Wickes

and then later sold them at a substantial profit to Travis Perkins. Now in June 2011 Payless has come back to bite Halfords to the tune of £7.5m who back in the Ward White days had gaurenteed the lease of a number of Focus/Payless stores .

A final twist is that the Wickes and Travis Perkins group has bought up 13 of the former Focus DIY stores.
