The purpose of the tour is to provide young professional golfers with a platform to launch a tournament career. In 2005, the total prize money was approximately £1 million. Top prizes were £10,000 in standard events and £20,000 at the tour championship. The leading money winner won just under £55,000. The PGA EuroPro Tour is not lucrative in itself, but it can provide a stepping stone towards the multi-million dollar incomes available at the highest level of golf.
