History

One of the earliest references to the airport is in the 1924 Owosso City Directory. A dedication for the 78 acres (31.6 ha) airport, owned by Robert Wilcox and Charles Wilson, was held on August 3, 1929. In the early 1940s, the airport was transferred to Shiawassee County, later to the city of Owosso. The airport was officially named the Owosso City Airport in June 1949.
