. "Recognized" is considered above average and is the second highest rating. It has been "Recognized" every year since the current system was established in 2005. In previous years, under TEA's previous ranking system, the school often received the highest "Exemplary" rating.

History

Nottingham was constructed in 1968 to serve the sudden population boom in the surrounding area.

In 2003, the school received a gym, which it lacked before, and walled classrooms - originally, Nottingham's walls were office dividers and bookcases, as the main building lacked any rooms. In addition, the track bordering the field inside it was downsized to make way for the new library. The renovations were completed by the start of the 2003 - 2004 school year.

In 2008, the playground (dating to 1979) was rebuilt with new equipment. Hurricane Ike
