History

Nizam Sugar Factory was established during the time of the Last Nizam of Hyderabad State, Mir Osman Ali Khan. It was established on land around 15,000 acres and the locattion was named Shakkar Nagar.

The Factory

The factory was a major employer during the Nizam period. The NSF has lands in Bodhan, Yedpalli, Kotgir and Renjal mandals, with some parcels were auctioned in 2001.
