Mopin is a festival
celebrated by the Adi tribe
in Arunachal Pradesh

in particular of the Gallong group of tribes of East Siang
and West Siang
districts.
It is a celebration of the harvesting season held in the Adi months of "Luni" and "Luki", corresponding to March-April. Officially the date is around April 5. In villages the celebration starts a month prior.
A local drink called Apung (an alcoholic beverage popular in this state prepared by fermentation of rice) is generally distributed among the participants in a bamboo shoot. Like in Indian festival of Holi, revelers apply Ette, a rice flour, to fellow revelers' faces.
Participants perform a local traditional dance called Poppyir at this event.
