Meydan racecource was officially opened on March 27, 2010, replacing Nad Al Sheba Racecourse

Meydan is the culmination of the vision of Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Makhtoum; UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. Chairman of the Board
and CEO of Meydan is Saeed Humaid Al Tayer, two other Board Members include Vice Chairman Ahmad Al Shaikh and Malih Lahej Al Basti.
