Early life

Maureen was born and raised in the Bay Area as one of five children. Her mother was raised in Mexico City

 and her father was raised in Burlingame, California. Maureen had a passion for news and at the same time stayed active in the community, so she went on to UC Davis and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and studied for her degree in broadcast journalism. At the same time she was studying for her major, she was on the lacrosse

News Career at KCOY and KNVN/KHSL (NCN) 2000-2005

Unfortunately, the management at KNVN/KHSL decided to pull the plug on Your Show Live due to low ratings. Maureen teamed up with Matt Keller at NCN for another year before leaving on March 10, 2005 after four years with NCN.

KFSN-TV ABC 30 2005-2008

Maureen debuted on ABC 30 on April 1, 2005 after a big shake up with KFSN's news and weather department in releasing Richard Montano. Maureen anchored the weekends with Jason Oliveira on sports and Craig Herrera on weather (now with KNTV
