On July 4, 2009 at the United States Championship Wrestling "Summerbash 2009" show at the Baker County Fairgrounds in Macclenny,Florida,Malia Hosaka won the vacated United States Championship Wrestling Women's Championship by defeating Amber O' Neal in the finals of a USCW Women's Championship Tournament match via 1-2-3 pinfall.

Hosaka was jobbed out of a win on January 16, 2010 at the Throwdown in Downtown II at the Fort Smith (Arkansas) Event center. Wrestling Athena the Wrestling Goddess with special guest referee Dennis McCaslin (an employee of the Fort Smith Radio Group, which promoted the event) officiating, Hosaka dominated most of the match. After several confrontations between Hosaka and the special referee, she scooped up Athena for a body slam but was pushed from behind by McCaslin and rolled up in a small package for a quick count. After the match, she attacked the referee, including a kick to the "groin area" and had to be restrained by the three "real" referees at the event.
