Commercial area

Malakpet is home to the wholesale market for spices, which was shifted here from Mir Alam Mandi  to Mehboob mansion which was a part of Nizams so many palaces sprawled throughout Hyderabad.

It also has many shops catering to all needs of its residents. All major apparel stores, including Chermas

Malakpet has quite a number of Hospitals, The Major ones being Yashodha Hospital, Hyderabad Kidney center and Susrutha Hospital(This is the oldest and First Hospital in Malakpet and has been serving people for close to 40 Years). Apart from these there are some Smaller hospital

The state-owned APSRTC runs the city bus service, connecting to all the major centres of the city. All the buses running from Dilsukhnagar and Midhani bus depots pass through Malakpet.

You can find buses from Dilshuknagar most of which ply via malakpet, you can buses to any place in hyderabad.

In early 1980s there was only one apartment building in dhis place i.e ShreeRama Apartments on Race Course Rd .Today many buildings & urbanising of not only this place but LB Nagar etc; the traffic is increasing.
