The school is coeducational for all forms up to A Level students. It opened in 1975 and is the only school in Mabvuku offering A level. When Mabvuku High School introduced A level in 1988 they produced very good results with the top students being the late Gibson Makwamure, Samson Machi, the late Elijah Mayengehama and Boston Guti.
