Teams are given 24 hours to solve and present a multi-disciplinary case. Presentations are judged by a panel composed of 12 company representatives from a variety of fields. The competition is held over a duration of 5 days. The schedule traditionally comprises social, networking, tourism and educational activities. Participation at the MMICC is by invitation only.

The MMICC has been held on a yearly basis since 2001 and is entirely student-run. The organization relies on support from McGill University
