Louis Tussaud was the great-grandson of madame Marie Tussaud
. He created a waxwork museum (similar to that of Madame Tussaud's) in Blackpool, Lancashire.
There were also Louis Tussaud wax museums in Atlantic City, New Jersey
, in St. Petersburg, Florida
(from 1963 to 1989) and a Louis Tussaud's Wax Museum in Copenhagen
, Denmark
(Closed in 2007), Great Yarmouth
and Belle Vue, Greater Manchester.

Louis Tussaud's museums are not connected to the Madame Tussauds
nor to the Josephine Tussaud's (1900–1985) wax museum in Hot Springs, Arkansas

Recently Louis Tussauds, Blackpool, (which was temporarly owned by Leisure Parcs) was bought out by Blackpool Council. The attraction closed in November 2010 and passed to the management of the Merlin Entertainment Group. It re-opened as Madame Tussauds in March 2011.
