In 1893 Liverpool Astronomical Society obtained the 5" Cooke equatorial
telescope. Currently it is situated in the observatory on the roof of the William Brown Library and Museum
building.
Today the Society have an Observatory - Leighton Observatory - at Pex Hill, Cronton
