.

Captain Duck Edgar Dumas Aloysius Dodgers - A poor, hapless soul that was accidentally frozen for over 3 centuries. He was later revived by Dr. I.Q. Hi in the 24½th century. Through scheming and lies he managed to trick everyone into believing he was a 21st century hero. In reality, he was only a water-boy for a football team. He is arrogant, selfish, greedy, lazy, cowardly, gullible, and not particularly intelligent. However, he occasionally displays surprisingly high levels of heroism and competence, suggesting that he is not quite as daft as he appears to be, although he mostly succeeds through dumb luck and the work of the Eager Young Space Cadet. Ironically, Commander X-2 actually caused Dodgers to become a minor football star in the final game of the season, which is what he used to parlay himself into captaincy in the Protectorate, meaning that he is, technically, not lying when he claims he won a championship football game in his own time. He is played by Looney Tunes staple character Daffy Duck.

Cadet

Cadet, the faithful sidekick of Duck Dodgers, is played by the fictional character Porky Pig

.

The Eager Young Space Cadet - Looks up to Dodgers, seeing him as a father-figure in many ways. He is utterly loyal to Dodgers (most of the time) and doesn't doubt a word he says (most of the time). Despite being much smarter than his so-called hero, he lets him give all the orders. Dodgers cares deeply for his Cadet though he rarely shows it, and often tries to take credit for the Cadet's work. Dodgers relies heavily on the Cadet's assistance and would likely fail most missions without it. It should be noted that the Cadet is also fairly successful as a ladies man, often being the one who gets the girl Dodgers swoons over. He graduated summa cum laude from the Protectorate Academy. Very little else is known about his past, though one episode portrays him as being the Prince and Ruler of his home planet of Swinus 9 in another it reveals his sister was sold to the sausage factory, with his own set of villains trying to dethrone or otherwise eliminate him. Since this was revealed in a story the Cadet told while babysitting his overly rambunctious niece and nephews, Porko, Puerco, and Sow (a joke on Animaniacs' Yakko, Wakko, and Dot, and even voiced by the same people), and they expressed no prior knowledge of this, it is unknown whether or not this is true or just his attempt to impress his impressionable relatives. He has claimed to have ended world hunger to Count Muerte, although this could be seen as bragging to a stranger. The Cadet is played by Porky Pig.

I.Q. Hi

Dr. Ignatius Q "I.Q." Hi - The overweight scientist that revived Dodgers after being frozen for 3 centuries. Serious and hard-working, he is often irritated and frustrated with Dodger's incompetent side, and doubts that Dodgers truly was a 21st-century hero. In addition to being a hard-working scientist, he constantly wears gloves that stretch up his arm, ending at his elbow and leaving a gap between his fingertips and the glove's tips (which he did not wear in the 1952 short). Also, every year, he tags along with Dodgers, flying as a cadet to see how orders are received on Dodgers' ship, much like the Cadet. In college, he majored in Pointless Minutiae, which his mother warned him against. He also has a slight potassium deficiency.

I.Q. Hi is the leader of the Space Protectorate. He gives out missions to the team.

Since then, Johnson has been involved in freeing Mars from the military coup by General Z9, and searching for gangsters when Dodgers went missing for a brief period of time. He is responsible for monitoring Duck Dodgers during his annual Protectorate Training Test (which Dodgers had skipped out on many times before). He takes great pride in molding lazy Captains (like Dodgers) into decent shape to fight for the Protectorate, as well as enjoying their suffering during training. However, he respects individuals who can think out of the box, which is why Sgt. These implants enhanced his combat abilities, as he is able hold off several centurions before they bait and trapped him with pie. He seems to not be very educated as the only two words he says are "Duck" and "Stereo". When Dodgers thwarted the Martians, Dr. Maniac escaped with Bigfoot and were seen in the fast food business. On the "Bonafide Heroes" show, Dr. Maniac and Bigfoot were seen being interviewed in jail. He seems to not be very educated as the only two words he says are "Duck" and "Stereo".

Martian Commander X-2

The Martian EmpireMartian Commander X-2 - The confident commander of the Martian military who is Dodgers' arch enemy. He is infatuated with the Martian Queen that he serves, and considers Dodgers more of a nuisance than a true enemy. He once essentially created Duck Dodgers by going back in time and making him a hero so as to not be proven wrong by the queen (the queen did figure it out and was punished).

Duck Dodgers' primary enemy (indeed, archenemy), Marvin is never named outside his official capacity as the Commander (possibly High Commander) of the fleet of Mars
Mars

, which in itself is a very good title, one mst admit. Marvin obeys the Martian Queen Tyr'ahnee, and has a huge crush on her, which unfortunatelyis not requitted for most of the three seasons. Even at the point of their wedding, the Queen somehow (for reasons that to the viewers may seem inadequate) chooses Dodgers over X-2 when X-2 has just risked his life to save Dodgers (who has food poisoning from eating their wedding food too quickly). It may just be this, among other various completely outrageous actions, that have fueled X-2's wish to destroy Duck Dodgers. Not surprisingly, however, he works very well with the Cadet (as does everyone), and can even tolerate working with Dodgers as well when needs must.

In this alternate universe, Marvin is given a much greater personality range, with interests in music (including piano -oddly enough for a Martian- and singing), cooking (he apparently collects recipes, as becomes obvious in Consumpition Overruled when he mentions collecting a crab puff recipe in Redburg, a city possibly on Mars), and possibly in linguistics (in the Episode "Too Close for Combat", when he and the Queen were trying to convince two assassins to go after Dodgers, he was very interested in the fact that they spoke Portuguese fluently). He is also shown to be quite an obsessively tidy and avidly working person at times, habits which may have originated from his physical form (Chuck Jones himself mentioned he looked like an ant with Roman armor on). X-2 is also an avid scientist and inventor, creating many a machine that assists the stories (and they actually work, unlike the fabled ones of Wile E. Coyote).

Martian Commander X-2 is played by Marvin the Martian and was voiced by Joe Alaskey

, Queen Tyr'ahnee is shown as an incredibly competent ruler who, much unlike the rival President of Space, actually leaves the safety of the government buildings at times (in this case, the Martian Palace). She is in love with Dodgers and, just like Cadet, believes him to be a true hero, although she still dislikes him at times. She almost married him at one point, before he decided to leave (thanks to some careful persuasion on the part of Marvin the Martian

). She never quite got over her feelings for Dodgers, to the point of desterting Commander X-2 (once dated and very nearly married) at their own wedding for him (though Dodgers rejects her, wishing to remain a bachelor at this time).
