The Griffins are one of the most influential people in Auburn's history. They have been Auburn resiednts for about 120 years. They live in the Griffin Mill and Dam, and they own and operate the Griffin Free Public Library and Museum. The most well-known Griffin family members are David Griffin, Nathan Griffin and Sebastian Griffin.

The Hooks
The Hooks lived on present-day Hooksett Road, and the nearby town of Hooksett is named after them. They have lived in Auburn for about 75 years, and most of them live in Hooksett, but a few live in Auburn. Notable Hook family members include Issac Hook, Nathaniel Hook, Daniel Hook, June Hook, Henry Hook and Thomas Hook.

The Tesses
The Tess family are not as well-known as the Hooks, Dobes or Griffins, but the lived here for the longest, 140 years. They currently live along the north shore of Lake Massabesic.
