Kasaniya or Kasania is a gotra
(clan) of the Jat people
found in Rajasthan
, India. Their lineage is traditionally traced from the god Krishna
. In Sanskrit
the Krishna
Vansha
were called Karshney or Karshniya which became Kasaniya. The Krishna Vansha people in China
were known as Kushan or Yuezhi
. They are believed to be inhabitants of place Kasgar.

left these areas after the Mahabharata war and migrated to Uttarakuru
