TEMPLES:-

Karanja or Karanja Lad is famous for its temple of Nrusimha Saraswati Swami Maharaj. Devotees come from all around the Maharashtra. Every year many devotees come and to perform MAUNJ ( a Hindu religious ceremony in which the person is shown the path to enlightenment) for their children. KARANJA'S temple has its own borewell in addition to older regular well. The devasthan is managed by it a committee appointed by its own trusteeship.

CLIMATE:-

Karanja is usually a hot place.But the wells usually have water all year round. Karanja receives around average of 33 inches of rainfall during monsoon.

Poetry and achievement

  • Urdu poet & great politician late Khalil Farhat Karanjvi belonged to Karanja Lad. He was a great social worker and also a great poet of Urdu. Khalil Farhat Karanjvi was born in 16 April 1934 and died in 19 April 2007. He has given a very huge contribution to Urdu poetry.His Elder son Shamim Farhat is a well known conductor Of Urdu Mushaira (Poetic session).After Khalil Farhat's death, his younger son Waseem Farhat Karanjvi(critic & researcher) has published a poetry collection of late Mr.Khalil Farhat Karanjvi named "Zakhm-E-Hunar", which is admired by India’s Prime Minister Shri Dr. Manmohan Singh in 2009.
