, KansasFest typically lasts five days and features presentations from Apple II experts and pioneers, as well as games, fun events, after-hours hallway chatter, late-night (or all-night) runs out to movies or restaurants, and more.

 founded the long-running KFest conference and expo as the A2-Central Summer Conference. It was immediately dubbed "KansasFest" by attendees, a portmanteau of the name of the other major Apple II event of the time, the AppleFest expo, with Resource Central's location in suburban Kansas City. Although Resource Central went out of business in the early 1990s, KFest is still held annually.

Many of the most exciting new products for Apple II computers are announced at KansasFest each year. Past years have seen the introduction of the LANceGS Ethernet Card, the Marinetti TCP/IP stack, and similar major announcements.

The 23rd annual KansasFest will be held July 17-22, 2012, and will open with a keynote speech by John Romero
