He was born in Gortynia

 and was a son of one of the calmest chiefs in the Peloponnese (then Morea), Ioannis Deligiannis. Due to the prominence of his family in the area, he played an important role in the revolution. Before the war of independence, the future general of the Greek army was his Protopalikaro (first security guard), and he gave him the leadership of his army when the war began.

. He became a president of the Greek Parliament in 1844 and ran until 1845.

He also wrote several memoirs that portrayed his father as being beneficent among the Greek population and protective of Morea's peace. The third work was intended to restore the family's honor, which lost its validity after the revolution.

He died in 1862.
