Career

Masingila began her academic career at Syracuse University in 1992 where she continues to teach undergraduate mathematics courses, courses in the grades 7-12 mathematics preparation program, and graduate courses in mathematics education. She has become widely influential in mathematics education. She and her colleague, Helen Doerr, have had numerous research projects funded by the National Science Foundation

, as well as other projects for professional development activities with area secondary mathematics teachers. Masingila has been active in research, as well as curriculum development. She and her co-authors, Frank Lester and Anne Raymond, have written a set of books for mathematics content courses for pre-service elementary teachers.
