Despite Jerry's bitterness that Jax had always been the golden child, while he had to scrape by and also protect Jax, Jax saved him from a prison sentence. Jax and Jerry eventually became very close.

Relationship with Bobbie Spencer

At the 1999 Nurse's Ball, a tape of Jerry and Bobbie making love was accidentally spliced into Emily Quartermaine's documentary (Emily had left her camera in a room at the hospital; Jerry and Bobbie had no idea the camera was there), embarrassing them in front of the entire town. Both handled the reaction very well, not too surprising considering their outcast status throughout many parts of their lives.

Jerry asked Bobbie to run away with him, but she refused. Jax got him out on bail and Sonny managed to help him skip town after a tearful good-bye to Jax on the docks.  to perform crude surgery on her in the hotel's lobby, while Robin's boyfriend, Dr. Patrick Drake dictated instructions by phone. Craig also forced Dr. Alan Quartermaine to suffer through an untreated heart attack (from which he later died). Craig had the lobby rigged with explosives to prevent any of the hostages from trying to overtake the gunmen, as the gunmen secretly rotated control of the detonator.

With the aid of Jason, Sam McCall managed to escape and told the police about the explosives. A rescue attempt was launched, and after a scuffle for the detonator switch, Craig pressed the button and triggered the explosives, then managing to escape in the confusion. A few hours later, Jason tracked him down and they engaged in a shootout. Craig was wounded, but Jason had to let him go in order to rush to the side of his dying father, Alan. However, Jason did not make it in time, and Alan died before Jason arrived.

to attend Jaxs' upcoming wedding to Carly. On April 30, 2007, Jerry tried to observe the wedding by hiding outside the building and talking to his brother on the cell phone, but his mother saw Jerry and recognized him, even though he had had plastic surgery. Two other close-calls occurred when Jax overheard the music from his wedding in the background of Jerry's phone call, and Damien Spinelli caught a brief glimpse of Craig as he passed by.

Jerry went to Carly's house knowing that she and Jax weren't back from their honeymoon yet and that his mother was still there babysitting Carly's boys Michael and Morgan. On May 29, 2007, it was revealed that Craig was forced to watch the brutal murder of a woman he had been in love with. After witnessing the murder, the killers tasked him with the recovery of the case threatening his death if it wasn't recovered.

It was revealed on July 31, 2007 that Irina, Jerry's former lover that is supposed to be dead, is actually alive and holding Jax against his will. Irina planned to murder Jax in front of Jerry, as revenge for betraying her, but in truth, the people who "murdered" Irina helped her fake her death. Irina slept with Jax while holding him at gunpoint, and then called Carly to inform her of the incident. Carly and Jerry would arrive on the scene, and after seeing Jerry kill Irina with no hesitation, Jax told him he did not want him in his life anymore.

Recently Jerry has been seen visiting a man with a wings tattoo on his shoulder. It has been revealed that this man is Dr. Ian Devlin. Jerry works for him and is trying to acquire Alcazar's warehouse property.

Jerry also started working with Russian mob boss Andrei Karpov. Sam McCall went undercover working for Karpov, trying to prove that Jerry was involved with Karpov. Jerry had Sam framed and sent to jail. Once she was released he tried to kill her by placing a bomb in a dumpster, only to be saved by Jason Morgan. When Sam returned to her apartment, she was kidnapped by Jerry and took to a ship, where he planned to blow up the ship with Sam inside and fake his own death. The plan failed at the last minute when Jason found the ship and rescued Sam after a scuffle with Jerry. Jason and Sam barely escaped the ship, as it exploded, while he was trapped in a net. Though it was believed that Jerry had died, that same night, Jax received an anonymous call from someone who didn't say a word, leading Jax to believe his brother was still alive.

found one of the DVDs that held a crucial piece of information, leading Kate to find out about what Claudia did. on

On April 7, 2009, Carly answered the phone in Jax's office, only to find that it was Jerry on the other end of the line.

Several days later, Jerry confronted Claudia at the Elm Street Pier. He told her that in the coming weeks, he would confess all to Sonny and Carly. After arriving home, Claudia made a call to an assassin, where she ordered him to plant explosives in Jerry's car. During a confrontation between Jason and Jerry, the bomb went off, injuring both men. While recovering in the emergency room, Jerry snuck out of the hospital. He showed up on July 30, 2009 when Claudia called to get revenge on Michael for her miscarriage. A few days later, Claudia called Jerry again to tell him that Michael was not responsible for her miscarriage, but that Alexis Davis "confessed" to the crime. However, Jerry refused to believe Claudia, and went to search for Michael. Turns out Alexis and Sonny Corinthos' daughter, and Michael's sister, Kristina Corinthos-Davis, was responsible. Kristina was also on the run with Michael ( in Cancun, Mexico.) A few more days after that, Sam McCall, who was helping Jason Morgan to find the teenagers, was held at gunpoint by Jerry. She was than taken to an abandoned church outside of town. Jerry, who was holding Sam at gunpoint, made McCall call Jason to come to the abandoned church. She was than put in a room with a hired drug cartel men. Jason got in a shootout with Jerry, but then the roof collapsed over Jason. Jerry than shot Jason twice, and then left. After Sam escaped (off-screen), she found Jason and took him to a room upstairs. Jerry then returned to make sure Jason and Sam were still there, but never found them as they were hiding in the ceiling. Then he disappeared, and has not been seen after that.

On December 13, 2010, Jerry returned to Port Charles. He was picking up the body of a criminal's son and realized Jason was there, waiting to capture him. He held the orderly releasing the body at gunpoint to get away, but Jerry shot him and escaped. Lucky Spencer

had set up a roadblock to trap him, but Jerry ran his car over a cliff, supposedly dying. However, he showed up later on at Jax's house, where Carly walked in on him playing with her and Jax's baby daughter, Josslyn. Carly told him to give Josslyn back, and he did, but he also let Carly know he was here to take care of Brenda. Jax showed up and told Jerry to leave Brenda alone. Jerry answered by pulling a gun on Carly, saying that he'll leave Jax and Josslyn alone, but he doesn't care about Brenda and Carly. Jax lets him go to protect Carly.

Jerry is working for Theodore Hoffman, the man who is the Balken. During a meeting with Siobhan, he receives a call from the Balken, who is disappointed in him. An unknown person shoots Jerry, causing him to fall into the water. He is presumed dead.
