Ivan Podyomov is prizewinner of numerous musical prizes. At the age of eleven he won first prize in the Russian television competition Young Musicians of Moscow. In 1998 he was overall winner of the Moscow Young Oboists Competition and the Moscow Woodwind Ensemble Competition. In the Concertino Praga competition in 1998 Ivan was given honorary mention of the jury and became the youngest laureate of the year. In 2005 he won first prize at the International Rimsky-Korsakov Competition in St. Petersburg
