Biography

After graduation Mr Ertug studied Industrial Business Management and worked in the national insurance system afterwards. Between 2002 and 2005 he studied health insurance company operation management in Hersbruck

Ismail Ertug worked later in the customer consulting service of the AOK (State Health Insurance) in Amberg until 2007. He then performed his study in the strategic sales consultancy service in the headquarters of the AOK in Nürnberg, Bayern from 2007 to 2009.

, where he represents his constituency (East Bavaria). He is a Member of the Committee for Transport and Tourism and a Substitute in the Committee for Agriculture. Furthermore he is a Member of the Delegation in relations with Israel and the Delegation to the EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee.

His home constituency is Upper Palatinate (Amberg, Cham, Neumarkt, Neustadt, Regensburg, Schwandorf, Tirschenreuth, Weiden) and Lower Bavaria (Deggendorf, Dingolfing, Freyung, Kelheim, Landshut, Passau, Regen, Rottal-Inn, Straubing).

He supports the idea of a Europe with strong regions and cultural variety. Therefore, he backs up/ supports the revival of the " Goldenen Straße " (Golden Street). This trade route applied in the late Middle Ages from Nuremberg through Amberg and Pilsen to Prague. The aims of the " Goldenen Straße " are the transnational promotion of regional economy and culture, and an extensive frame to show the contribution of civil society/ citizens` commitment.

The native Amberger whose parents came in 1972 as migrant workers from Turkey to Bavaria defines/ shapes his parliamentary work as " building of bridges ", for instance between Europe and Upper Palatinate / Lower Bavaria, between Bavaria and the Czech republic as well as between Turkey and Europe. "
