Founding of AEL

Iraklis Larissa had an important role in the founding of teams in Larissa and one of the powerful, Larissa FC which continued to play in the Greek Football Championship and two Greek Cups, in which it was the only regional team to win and the fifth in list in Panhellenic titles in football (soccer) behind three teams from Athens

. An idea of the founding was a unique and easy team in Larissa that had in 1958, the former president Raptis. In May 1964, it founded Iraklis, Toxotis Larissa, Aris Larissa and Larissaikos and founded AEL. The first president of AEL was Iraklis president Tzovaridis, in the new team featured some former players including Kondokastas, Tsolakis, Adamos, Harissoulis, Dimitriou, Lellis, Papazoglou, Katsianis, Saltapidas and Kassas.
