Technical information

Variable geometry pylons allow Voyager and other Intrepid-class ships to exceed Warp 5 without damaging subspace. Voyager was also the first ship to utilize bio-neural computer technology, which makes use of packets of bio-neural gel. The storage medium is RNA

The Intrepid class has the capability to land on a planet's surface, first shown by Voyager in the episode "The 37s".

Known Intrepid-class starships

Other than Voyager, the only other Intrepid-class ship to be shown on screen has been the USS Bellerophon. The class prototype is the USS Intrepid. Publicity materials indicate that there were only four Intrepid-class ships planned.
