Like other professional institutes, IIHE administers an entrance test of 100 multiple choice questions in four sections. The passing cutoff is 40%, however the marks obtained in the test have no effect on the field of engineering the student is admitted to study. The candidates who pass the exam are given their preferred choice on the basis of their standing in Intermediate (high school) examinations.
