 and is governed by a seven member board of directors. Executive Director, who is a member of the board serves as the administrative head. IHS operations across Pakistan are divided into two regions, North and South Pakistan, each being supervised by a Regional Administrator.  having diverse health interests ranging from clinics, hospitals, labs, vaccination centers, corporate & school health services, health infra-structure development, home and emergency medical care, research, clinical trials, health education, occupational health & trainings.

IHS Pakistan has seven divisions. Each division focuses on specific aspects of the health spectrum like school health, occupational health, clinical care, emergency services, home nursing care, etc. Thus providing complete healthcare solutions for various segments of the society ranging from a school going child to a corporate executive, expatriates, elderly, families and industrial workers.

IHS has the distinguished honor of being the pioneers in school health, home medical care, corporate health services and occupational health consultancy in Pakistan. . This project is a part of the World Bank's SARDM (South Asian Regional Development Marketplace) 2008 initiative.

IHS is also implementing a Global Fund (GFATM) project as a sub-recipient of Round-6 by creating awareness about TB (Tuberculosis) through establishing "School TB Clubs" ((http://www.schooltbclubs.com)) in which school children (ages 10 to 15) mostly in the rural areas in 10 districts of Pakistan are made 'Ambassadors of TB', who then create awareness about the disease in their communities. Mercy Corps Pakistan is the principal recipient of GFATM for this 5 year project which is the first of its kind being implemented in the world.

IHS had made the 'National Clinical Guidelines for Viral Hepatitis Case Management' for the Pakistan's Hepatitis Control Program in 2006. These guidelines were meant to standardize the treatment of viral hepatitis specially Hepatitis B & C which have a prevalence of almost 4 to 8% in Pakistan as per various surveys.

On the clinical side IHS is operating a specialized Children Hospital in Islamabad

Center for Advancement of Health & Social Sciences (CAHSS) (cahss.edu.pk) is another IHS subsidiary that imparts continuing medical education to professionals. It is running courses on health systems management, health economics, healthcare planning, HR management in health and public health.
