Hunter House is the original Long Calderwood Farm and may be the oldest extant building in East Kilbride.
The museum contains exhibits relating to the medical pioneers and brothers, William Hunter
(1718–1783) and John Hunter
(1728–1793). The house was their birthplace and childhood home. This museum also covers local history
of East Kilbride.
The museum is open between April and September on Friday to Sunday with free admission. It is run by South Lanarkshire Council.
South Lanarkshire Council have closed the museum.Local groups and volunteers are hoping to re-open it.
