 approved a proposal by the Ministry of Health for decentralization of the services offered by the Kuala Lumpur General Hospital to several hospitals in the Klang Valley

. This was to ensure the people would enjoy the best health facilies which were easily accessible.

According to the proposal, the decentralization would involve the construction of several new hospitals, namely Hospital Selayang, Hospital Ampang and Hospital Sungai Buloh.

Hospital Sungai Buloh was also planned to apply ICT applications in its management, especially the Total Hospital Information System (THIS), which has been in use since December 2007.
